For us, the Fenix HM50R V2.0 is the perfect all-round headlamp for safari trips.
With a total weight of just 78 grams, this compact headlamp is exceptionally lightweight and comfortable enough to wear for extended periods without being noticeable. Its four white light levels, ranging from 30 to 700 lumens, provide the versatility needed for everything from walking around camp to illuminating more demanding outdoor situations.
A particularly useful feature is the additional red light mode. It provides discreet illumination in camp, while observing wildlife from a hide overlooking a waterhole, or during other nighttime activities, helping preserve night vision and minimizing disturbance to the surrounding environment.
The lamp can also be easily removed from the headband mount and used as a compact handheld flashlight. The included Li-ion battery is conveniently recharged directly inside the flashlight via the USB-C port, eliminating the need to remove the battery for charging.
The HM50R V2.0 is a true ultra-lightweight, always-with-you, multi-purpose flashlight, making it an excellent companion not only for safaris but also for camping, hiking, travel, and everyday use.
